"Self Portrait", oil

This is the 3rd piece that made it into the Delicato Show. It is a self portrait and my favorite part is the hands. Again, no one will ever buy a painting of me but that portrait category gave me a chance to show some pieces that have never been out and about. It is cool that I had the day off and was strolling through Carol Marines' list of blogs and between her web site and the site of Karen Appleton, I got pretty excited. I seldom get a chance to leisurely enjoy the work of others. Hey, I saw a good movie...it will make you cry if you have a heart. It is "My Sister's Keeper". Live in the moment!! Enjoy!

Hi Marilyn, I read your "about me" and it is as if you were writing about me. I read it to my sister in Florida and she said "she is just like you." I teach three classes a week and just love my artists and I love teaching and I love doing art. I do oil, acrylic, and now silk painting. I am so happy you like my scarves. I am doing a window box series and am having a ball. The newest one is tulips and daffodils. I like it a lot. The next one will be poppies. We had a big snow storm today and everything so gorgeous. I am going to read your whole blog. You could of been my sister in another life. Jeanne
ps I am going to do Etsy and E bay, it is just so time consuming. I want to paint more 6x6, I love doing them. J

Isn't it funny how that is sometimes. So many people have lived such similar lives to mine and fought similar fights. I have not had much luck with Etsy or Ebay but there will be a day when I have more time and I will give it another more serious try. I do love the 6" X 6" paintings. I love your silk paintings. I did a little silk painting when I had breast cancer but when I did not lose my hair I gave my scarves to those that needed them.
