Farming and Ranching 37

This is a view of the old Barengo Winery from Lower Sacramento Road in Acampo, Ca.
A friend took me to Sacramento to see the "Lion King". It was amazing! The costumes are mind blowing. We had such a nice time. It was the play not the movie. Also terrific music. A must see!!! Before I went I toned 6 masonite boards for a commission I just got to paint 6 landscapes. I still have not decided if they will all be oils or 3 oils and 3 pastels. That was the good news that I was not ready to share yet.
Yesterday I picked up my paintings from the 20th Street Gallery in Sacramento and my dear husband will deliver them to the Knowlton Gallery on Tuesday. If you did not have a chance to see the show stop by the Knowlton and take a look. What a glorious day we are having today!!! Enjoy!!!

Farming and Ranching 32 Millers Cherry Orchard

HELP! I really like this subject but I think maybe the red in the background pulls forward to much. What do you think? I could use some feedback.

Well, tomorrow is the last day of school. My air conditioner went out on the way home from work yesterday( it was 100 degrees), so hopefully I will get that fixed tomorrow after work.

Farming and Ranching 28, Cherries Blooming 2

This is a moody little guy and the painting is better than the photo. It is also at Lower Sacramento Road and Acampo Road in Acampo, Ca. To purchase click here.
With the economy so bad I wonder if this is how Van Gogh felt when his work did not sell. I feel so sorry for him and his suffering.

Farming and Ranching 27, Cherries Blooming 1

This is out on the corner of Lower Sacramento Road and Acampo Road when the cherries were blooming. The grapes vines are still laying bare when the cherries are putting on such a show!!! A gift of kindness is a gift not only to the receiver but also to the giver.

Barnyard 39

Sorry this is also not a great photo. I am a bit burned out. Between my Master's class and these plus the 2 I am doing for the Knowlton and working full time...I really over extended myself. As soon as I finish my final painting for the Academy and the 2 barns for the Knowlton, I will be taking a break. This experience reminds me that life needs balance. I keep forgetting that and constantly over commit. I need to find out how to say NO again. Have a lovely Mother's Day one and all.

Barnyard 37

In this one I am playing with reflections again. Once I began using the water puddles, many new ideas opened up. Just a reminder, the 20th Street Gallery in Sacramento is having it's Second Saturday opening this Saturday from 6 till 9. Come if you can. It is always fun.

I really like the reflections here. Just a reminder...the second Saturday is the Saturday and the 50/50 show will have an opening reception if you were not able to go to the first one. Find some beauty in each day!!! :)

Nausea

This pastel is about the nausea and altered mental state that chemotherapy has on the mind. No it is not a pretty picture, it is about suffering. This is the last call to anyone who would like to support my son in his Mother's Day Classic, fundraiser for breast cancer research. Click here to sponsor him. No amount is to small.

Barnyard 34

This one is inspired by the Costa Cherry orchard after a rain. The 50/50 show is being rehung as we speak and will have a second opening on May 9th for second Saturday in Sacramento, Ca. Hope you can come if you live in the area. We are having liquid sunshine that we desperately need. Our well on the ranch is not working again...the 5th well problem we have had in 4 years. Out here the only water comes from our own wells.
