Is the weather vane and cupela part of the barn? This one is on Liberty Road, just west of 99 highway. I am tired. To tired. Good night.
Primarily Small Works
This rooster is strutting his stuff as my students might say. I have included the tire of the tractor in the background as well as my own shadow on the barn door. Hope my posting is not to erradic.
I had fun with the water puddle here. I have been working on the oil sketch for my final painting this quarter. I am doing an 8 X 10 block in to work out color and composition issues before I start the larger final painting. I am also going back and touching up past assignments. The instructor is giving us the opportunity to improve our paintings and grades this week.

Here is another tractor. It is not working as well as some of the others. What do you think? What does it need? Any ideas out there?
This one is also far from perfect but it is one of my grand daughters and Jerry loves to carry her everywhere when she was little. My son called yesterday and it was interesting. He said the last painting I posted looked like my daughter when she was Clarene's age. HUMMMM. Interesting.
Well, I am sure you are all bored to tears seeing those barnyard pieces, so I am posting this painting that I finished a few weeks back. It is of our grand daughter, Clarene. It still is not perfect(and never will be) but it is someone I love and care about. I am working on several paintings of my grand children and as I work on them, I think of Elizabeth Sanchez and her special love for her nieces, one of which she calls "Babushka". She would work for hours to get everything just perfect. I admire the love and caring she put in those pieces. Happy Easter everyone.
Here is barnyard 21. I used Sallys' barn interior and took photos of Ryder Tractors and put them together to create this piece. If you are in Sacramento today come by the reception. It is at 911 20th Street and will go on till 9P.M. or later. I worked on my homework for my masters class at the Academy of Art in S.F. I am painting my 3 grandsons. If I can get everything right I am going to be very pleased. It is due midnight on Tuesday so I am trying to pace myself.
This is one of my Cherry pieces it is a 10" X 8" oil painting. I did it to show my high school students how to use a palette knife. I have used both a brush and a knife to create this painting. To bid click here.

I wish these little paintings had less glare. I shot pictures of them while they were still wet and since they are now at the gallery I can not shot better ones. Hope these are good enough. I still have 35 more of these little barnyard paintings. I must go get my coffee. Have a great day and remember to see the small beautiy all around you!
I really love this little painting. It is one of those moments when everything felt right. I especially like the light on the tractor seat and the slight reflection in the water puddle. You already know it is a 6" X 6" oil on masonite for $120.00 and is at the 20th Street Gallery in Sacramento.
