40 minute figure, 15

This is the 15th quick study. This is 40 minutes work, it is not a finished oil painting but a sketch. When the timer goes off I jump, swear and grumble and wish for more time but the brush goes down and it is over! My favorite part is the foot.

25 minutes, number 14

This is the 14th quick study. This one is 25 minutes. They are kind of fun actually. Are they finished? Maybe not but for 25 minutes, they are finished enough. By this time next week I have 12 more to do.

This is the 13th quick study. I also did revisions on 2 of my 60 minute quick sketches making them 90 minute sketches.

25 minutes, Attitude, 12

Well, this is the 12th quick study and was done in 25 minutes. I like the gesture of her body but wished I had more time on her face.

60 minutes, Cool Cow, 11

This is the 11th quick study in my class. This one is 60 minutes and in oils. Actually they are all in oils.
This is 11" X 14".  The cow belongs to Allison Gerrity. I have painted her cows quite a few times. It is funny how they love to just stand in the water for hours.

60 minutes, Paris After Dark, 10

This is a 60 minutes oil sketch done from one of my photos.  I took it the last time I was in Paris several years ago. I like the wet quality it has. This is the tenth painting done for my quick studies class. I do like painting these quick studies. I don't have the patience for finish. I also love to see juicy paint and brush strokes.

Again this is 60 minutes in oil. This is that beautiful grand daughter Clarene. If you saw the Stockton Record today, there were some nice pictures of my work in the Lens Section. Take a look. Must go paint!
